Stella & Dot Launch Autism Awareness Bracelet Benefiting Irish Autism Action

Tomorrow, April 2nd, sees the 8th Annual World Autism Awareness Day and one of our favourite fashion accessories brands, Stella & Dot are going above and beyond to support Irish Autism Action with their Harmony bracelet. The incidence of Autism is now believed to be at 1 in 100 children, though studies show that is on the increase. Unfortunately little is known about possible causative factors or conditions preceding or accompanying Autism so support is imperative for Irish Autism Action, a young dynamic, innovative and passionate organisation bringing positive change into the lives of those affected by autism.

Based in San Fran and firm favourite of fashion youtubers and bloggers alike, Modcloth was one of those online stores that I always wished I could get my grubby mitts on. Well guess what, vintage and vintage inspired lovers, now we can! I learned over the weekend that not only do Modcloth ship to Ireland but they have one of the most efficient and friendly customer service teams I've ever dealt with.

This trés fashionáblé shower curtain is exactly what I'd have in my en suite IF I HAD ONE. The bright design would lift any room and add a little charm to a space where generally there is none. The heavy cloth would mean no more shower curtain sticking to me either - a daily rustler of my jimmies. I want this. I want it bad.

 Here's what I blahhdy love about Modcloth, their client base is so large that there are customer reviews on almost every product. Even better? Those customer reviews include pictures of said product being worn by said customer so you get to see exactly how it looks on a real, sans photoshop and sans perfect lighting person. Isn't. That. Deadly? 

Sizes run to 5XL in some of the Plus Size clothing (EXACTLY the same designs as the regular sized clothing) so there's no need to feel as though you're missing out should you be of fuller figure. 

Modcloth also use this vast client base to gauge what is popular and use that info to bring items back that people want, again, customer service genius. See this peacock swimsuit?

If you peruse blogs as often as I do then you will have seen rumblings of a new Irish jewellery company, offering some serious bling at surprisingly affordable prices and free worldwide delivery. Jasper Jewellery may be new to the blogosphere but the family behind the company have been international business traders for over 4 generations so know a thing or two about the business. 

Zara Statement Necklace: Return of the Pearl

If I gave u diamonds and pearls, Would u be a happy boy or a girl, If I could I would give u the world, But all I can do is just offer you my love. OK, so maybe because the fact that my first concert, bought with my Confo money, was the slithery sexpot Prince's Diamonds and Pearls in the RDS gave me a soft spot for the precious stone combo but this statement necklace from Zara literally stopped me in my tracks. 

I'm a big fan of statement neck wear (they always fit) but Zara have been seriously knocking it out of the park of late. So much so that unless you grab new stock as it comes in then you're left a wanting. When I saw the shop assistant unpacking a box of these lovelies on the day of the #RaboTweeties, I knew one would be the perfect fit for that night. 

Zara Pearls and Chains: €22.95

I was a little concerned that the mixture of pearls and chains might give a choker effect, never flattering, but thrilled once I'd tried this bad boy on. 

I needn't have been worried at all, I paired it with a simple v neck black silk knit geansaí and wet look black legs and my outfit was complete. Several compliments later, I'm pretty sure it was a star buy.

Tatty Devine Fallen Leaves Pendant: Autumnal Amazingness

In the second of today's Just Look At It posts is my first Tatty Devine piece and isn't it an absolute beauty? Fallen Leaves is made with laser cut curved autumnal leaves in warm caramel, marbled tortoiseshell and gold glitter perspex all hanging on a 56cm antique effect gold chain.

Just. Look. At. It. 

Being an owner of a neck with considerable circumference, or so jewellery makers would have me believe, I was thrilled to see Fallen Leaves comes on a 56cm chain. That's long enough to hang on a chunky geansaí or even through a blouse/jumper combo. 

See? Even worn over my tube of boob, we're talking
plenty of chain length to be working with.

My First Foray into Etsy: Bargalicious Bling!

For the longest time I've associated Etsy with handmade treasure trove and personalised prettiness in my mind but had never actually taken the time to log on and check out the bajillion Etsy shops and their respective wares. When a newsletter from the self billed 'World's most vibrant handmade marketplace' made it into my inbox though I was drawn in. (Yep, I'm a marketer's dream). 

You'll find anything and everything you can imagine from sellers worldwide but naturally I was drawn to the jewellery (It ALWAYS fits) and was completely spoiled for choice. I eventually settled on just two pieces from the same seller (BestQuality666) and was completely blown away when they arrived from Japan 10 days later. 

First up, this literally stunning neck piece with intricate detailing and chunky brushed gold effect chain. It's heavy weight and gorgeously bright with each of the glass settings cut to catch the most light. 

I've already worn this over a simple black t shirt and jeans and had 5 compliments within the first 30 minutes. I. LUB. IT. 

The only thing I Lub more? The price! This stunner set me back just €11.97 - for realsies.

Next are these beautifully intricate Summer bright earrings. I'm a fiend for unusual and unique earrings and these shell flower glass gem stone drops are no exception. 

Beautifully intricate and eye catchingly bright these set me back a mere €2.90, that's right, less than three euro. I would have paid up to ten times that. 

Aren't they dinky? Again I've been receiving so many compliments with these little beautys. They're so easy to wear and complement every colour featured (that's a lot) but also contrast against white beautifully. 

One word of warning when buying with Etsy that I've found though, both of these picks have already trebled in price from the same seller! I can only imagine that there's been a lot of interest so she decided to up her asking price and who can blame her. Because of this I'd advise buying a bargain as soon as you spot it - it's certainly what I'll be doing in future.
