New from Ciaté: The Very ColorFoil Manicure

With Ciaté riding high on their recent releases of the Caviar, Velvet and Sequins manicures (all of which you'll find in the sidebar over there --->), 2013 will bring us something that, funnily enough, hasn't been seen everywhere preciously and duped at one tenth of the price. (Not duped yet, you understand). The Very Colorfoil Manicure is achieved with a base coat and several layers of multi-coloured foil pressed on. While they're slightly 90's graffiti, they're still pretty, no?

The Very ColorFoil Manicure will be available in three shades (L-R above) Kaleidoscope Klash, Carnival Couture and Wonderland. Each set containing:

- 0.17 oz Foil Fix Glue
- 0.46 oz Paint Pot in Kiss Chase (Carnival Couture), Pepperminty (Kaleidoscope Klash), Cream Soda (Wonderland)
- 30 Colourfoil Sheets in Blaze, Babe, Bounce, Beaut, Bloom, Brill (Carnival Couture); Stomp, Splash, Shout, Snog, Sing, Smash (Kaleidoscope Klash); Flash, Fizz, Feisty, Fling, Flirt, Frost (Wonderland)

While we have neither a launch date nor a price as yet, expect it to hit around the €20 mark as with other sets. I'm just hoping against hope that it's more long lasting on the nail than the other Ciaté launches of late.

What say we? Will you be checking these out? Or will you be DIY'ing 'em?

Count Down to Christmas: Top Advent Calendars

There really is no denying it at we enter the penultimate day of November, Christmas is haring toward us at breakneck speed. For my entire childhood I would love these couple of days because it meant that we'd begin to open doors on the advent calendar my Aunt had sent home from New York. (we were fierce fancy back then). There's nothing like peeling back the first door to get the Christmas spirit going.

Nowadays there's a billion and one options when it comes to Advent Calendars and savvy brands have cottoned on that there's still a wee child in each of us that loves the thrill of opening a little door a day for a surprise. I've put together some of my faves this year:

Liz Earle's 24 Days of Christmas
24 Days of Christmas with Liz Earle: €120.50
The most expensive of the lot is 24 Days of Christmas from Liz Earle. Containing 24 luxury samples of skincare to bodycare. If you want a sneak peek at contents you could check out Karen's post here (not advisable if you don't want to be filled with NEED). It's a gorgeous collection and would make a stunning gift for someone special.

L'Oreal Luxe

L'Oreal Luxe: €100
This luxury offering from L'Oreal boasts not only designer fragrances but luxury sized samples of mascara, lip gloss, skincare, serums and more. It's an absolute cracker.

Ciaté Mini Mani Month

Ciaté Mini Mani Month: €50
Words cannot express how much I want to get my mitts on this beauty. Ridiculous scheduling for the past 3 weeks has meant that I haven't had a minute to get into Arnott's Dublin, who have Irish exclusivity, to bag my own. Priced at €50 and boasting 24 mini polishes that's only slightly over €2 a bottle and the chance to rock a different talon look a day this December. Genius I tells ya!

The Ol' Reliable Cadbury

Cadbury's Wishes Advent Calendar: €3.89

Of course if the purse strings and present buying aren't allowing you to afford the bountiful beauty versions, there's always the ol' reliable, chocolate. This year Cadbury's have teamed up with the Make a Wish Ireland, who grant the wishes of children in Ireland living with life-threatening medical conditions, to release the Wishes Advent Calendar. 10% of all sales go directly to the charity. That's guilt free chocolate in anyone's book!

Do you buy Advent calendars? Tempted by the beauty versions this year?

Sequin Nails for Silly Season!

Have we seen the latest product from Ciaté? Just in time for the Christmas and Festive party season we have The Sequinned Manicure. A Magpie's dream.

The Sequin Manicure pack will set you back £15 though we don't have an Irish price yet. That's why I thought it might be an idea for the less patient amongst us i.e me to figure out how to get this look right now.

Let's face it, I don't need to be MacGyver now do I? I'll just leave these pictures below, yeah?

Who doesn't love Dealz?!
Or our trusty NYC
Pick a colour.. Any colour..

While the look isn't to everyone's taste, nor will it ever be completely percise (such is the wonder of loose glitter) for a special event or one night only extravaganza on your talons? I reckon it's a winner.

What think we? Will you be adding your name to the waiting list for Ciaté's Sequinned Manicure?

Ciaté Christmas About to be Available Exclusively in Arnotts!

When I spied this post from Karen of the LovelyGirlyBits yesterday there was an audible squeee, only to be repeated when the latest Arnott's Press Release touched down in my inbox last night. Turns out they've only gone and secured exclusivity for Ciaté's Christmas packs!

Ciaté Caviar Mini Bar : €35
The Caviar Mini Bar contains 4 beautiful polishes with 4 corresponding Caviar colours for endless combinations. Priced at €35, it would make a beautiful gift this Christmas for a nail art loving friend.

Ciaté Mini Mani Month: €50
Behold something very special indeed, you may have heard of the Lancôme advent calendar this season but here we have 24 mini nail colours, one for almost every day of the month, what is not to LOVE about that? Priced at €50, not only will I be picking myself up one o' these but a couple of friends will be proud owners too. I'm a little biased when it comes to nail polish but I reckon it's genius.

Ciaté Caviar & Velvet Manicure: €23 each
Launching alongside both of these packs will be Ciaté's, now famous, Velvet and Caviar Manicure sets for €23 each. You might remember my DIY tutorials for each of these should you want the look yourself at home (Links in the sidebar over there -->) but as a gift, they're a great idea.

All of these nail art goodies launch tomorrow, Friday 2nd of November, in the Arnott's Beauty Hall. Will you be checking them out?

First Look Swatches of Free Ciaté Polishes with This Months Marie Claire!

Have you picked up your free Ciaté polishes I mentioned earlier or are you waiting on these here swatches to make up yo' mind? Wait no more!

I've swatched 'em with no top coat so you can see the purrty shine.

Jelly Bean
First up, Jelly Bean is a beautiful Sunshine Fuchsia pink with a blue microshimmer running through it. It's a gorgeous formulation and although I'm of the firm belief that you can't have too many pink polishes, if you have Sally Hansen's Back to the Fuchsia and aren't of the same mind, you could pass this one. Personally, I HEART it!

Purple Sherbet
Next, Purple Sherbet is a light pastel mauve. On first application I had concerns about its opacity but two coats in, isn't it lovely? Soft, pretty & so wearable.

Lastly, Bon Bon is a mauve based nude cream. It applies beautifully to a high shine and is perfect for everyday office wear.

I'm really impressed with these, for €5.55 you get the polish AND you get to read all about Eva Mendes talking about my boyfriend. What more could you want, wha?

Have you picked up any of 'em yet? Has this swayed you either way?
