Louboutin Lipstick Lip Swatches & Review ~ A Guest Post by Katie Healy!

When I saw Louboutin was to release lipsticks there was just one lady I knew I could trust with a review. Katie Healy of What Katie Healy Did is the epitome of glamour online, just one peek at her Instagram HERE will tell you that. If you are lucky enough to know Katie in real life though you'll know that it's not just a digital persona, she is truly beautiful and exudes every ounce of elegance in person that she portrays online.

All of that and she's a Louboutin super fan. While I couldn't justify the €85 tag, I knew she wouldn't be able to resist. I was right. Before you empty your life savings for a Louboutin lipstick, take a look at an unbiased, informative review from a lady that really knows what she's talking about. Take it away, Katie!

The Supermodel from Charlotte Tilbury ~ Special Edition

Dublin Twitter was abuzz last week with a visit from the MUA of the moment, Charlotte Tilbury as she jetted into the city to launch her Special Edition 11th Look, The Supermodel.

Charlotte has cleverly designed her entire product line so that it can be grouped into Looks. You can choose the entire package to achieve the desired look or, like me, you can mix and match to personalize the final effect for yourself. This has taken a lot of the guesswork from make up buying and has helped make beauty counters a lot less daunting than before.

I've made no secret of my grá for the high end line and you'll see it pop up on my Insta and my kisser more often than not but to say I was enamoured with the lady herself is an understatement. She spoke with more passion for her products than any beauty legend I've met thus far. Down to earth and instantly likeable, I will never read 'Darlings' in any other accent but hers from now on.

What of the new Look though?

Inspired by the heavenly supermodels of the 1990's and the trailblazing icons of today’s catwalk, from Linda, Cindy, Claudia, Helena and Naomi, to Kate, Cara, Jourdan, Joan and Miranda. The Supermodel is channeling the legendary makeup of these perfect, glamazon women who understand the power of the ultimate smoky eye paired with a sultry nude lip look.

Special Edition Supermodel Look: €250

As with most of Charlotte's line, the real concentration is on the eyes with this look and the stunning Fallen Angel palette fits the bill perfectly. The ultimate metallic smokey eye palette for the holiday season, the new formula can be used wet or dry to amp up the drama.

The shades: pale golden pearl, antique silver, velvet black, and molten, metallic bronze can be used separately or together to create a look that can bring you from desk to dancefloor with ease. Ideal for the Christmas party season.

Fallen Angel: €59The entire look contains:
-The Supermodel: Luxury Palette in The Fallen Angel
- K.I.S.S.I.N.G Lipstick in Confession
-Lip Lustre in Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds (or L.S.D)
-Cheek to Chic Blush in Sex on Fire
-Rock ‘N’ Kohl Eye Pencil in Bedroom Black
-Lip Cheat Lip Liner in Pillow Talk
-Full Fat Lashes Mascara.
Of course the show stopping way to shop this look is to buy the entire box in one go but €250 is a pretty large chunk of change to spend when the other products are more of a background to the luxurious eye palette. That being said, if you're dropping hints to your significant other about one kick ass gift this year, there's not enough neon signs in the world for me to point at this box.

If buying for yourself though? Had there been a saving when buying kit and kaboodle I would have chased every one of ye out the door, card in hand. As it stands, I genuinely like every element of the Look but feel that there are other blushes and other glosses from the range that might suit different skin tones better. Half the joy is in the swatching, right?

You can see the entire Look demonstrated by the lady herself below and make up your own mind as to the must haves and maybe leaves from The Supermodel:

I'd love to hear your take on it?

Summer Sandals that Won't Break the Bank

I don't mean to alarm anyone but there's been a bright yellow orb in the sky for a couple of weeks now. I know what you're thinking, 'Don't be daft, sure it's only mid June' but I'm telling you, Jean Byrne forecast this and for once she was right! There's nowt like a ray or two to encourage us to cast off the waders of winter and get our tootsies into something a little more flattering and with the help of PurpleTag.ie, I've picked out some summer sandals that won't break the bank.

1. Evolve Wedge Beige Sandals:€59.99

These wedge sandals have a padded insole and a height boosting but back friendly wedge. With leather uppers and bright yellow detailing, you could style these summer friendly sandals up or down to suit your occasion. They're on offer now too.

2. Vagabond Flat Metallics: €69.95

Metallic is ha-YOOGE this season and these flat leather sandals are as easy a way to incorporate that into your every day wear as you're likely to get. Full leather uppers and a toepost to keep everything in place, pair these with a neon pedicure and you are summer ready, instantly (maybe add a maxi dress too if you're feeling shy)

3. Bourbon Amy Huberman Splash Sandals: €89.99

Can the Hubes do any wrong? The short answer is 'Hellz NO', just one peek at her shoe collection will show you just that (her photobooth skillz will reaffirm if needed). The Irish funny woman has given us something just a little bit gorgeous with the Bourban sandals. With patent straps and a rope effect wedge, you've got all your summer trend textile needs met with these bad boys.

4. Marila Double Strap Multi - €49.95

These flexible high quality leather sandals sing summertime to me. I see the bight colours and I want a holiday, immediately. Again, a multi-purpose sandal that could bring you from the office to the beach and out of an evening. If you live and work near a beach that is, in which case I hate you but your shoes are awesome.

5. Geox Alia Wedge: €96

These Geox wedges are the most expensive of the lot but with ergonomic design and breathable Italian leather, they're also my favourite. The beaten coffee colour means they're wearable with most all of your wardrobe and the design means you'll be hella comfortable doing it. I fell a little in love with Geox having worn their wedge trainers so these are the ones next on my never ending list of wants.

All of the above lovelies and oodles more can be found on PurpleTag.ie. They're an Irish online shoe company that promise to take the hassle out of shoe shopping with affordable prices, free delivery and free collections (from your home) should you not be 100% happy.

The kind folks over at Purple Tag have given me a 10% discount for all CherrySue readers should you find a pair of brogues that you just have to have.

Simply input the code CherrySue at checkout.

That's almost a tenner off those Geox wedges... BRB...

Sneak Preview of SpectaculART by Catrice

This teaser arrived in my inbox yesterday with a sneak preview of Catrice's Autumn Winter 2012 collection, SpectaculART.

Catrice say that this limited edition collection is 'Inspired by crossover couture and the Indian Bindi look of the winter fashion season 2012.' The focus is on the eyes as eyeshadows in elegant metal shades offer dramatic eye make-up looks.

The more eagle eyed and nail polish obsessed amongst us will have spotted this gold flake nail polish. If OPI's The Man with the Golden Gun 18k gold topcoat was a little out of your budget or inclination then this looks like a perfect replacement.

SpectaculART from Catrice is expected to hit stands in Novemember.

Will you be keeping an eye out?

Chanel's New Lust Have Scent - Coco Noir

Prepare yourselves, ladies, on the 17th of August Chanel are set to launch their newest scent, CoCo Noir at selected Chanel Counters. They say:

'Coco Noir is a distinctive CHANEL olfactory signature of desire and modesty, mystery and brilliance, in which baroque audacity and classic demeanour mingle and blend. By its complexity and elegance, Coco Noir celebrates the change in notion of femininity.'

I say, it's been a long time since I've fallen so instantly in love with a scent as I have with Coco Noir. It's unmistakeably Chanel but it's a darker, edgier more sensuous version. Notes of Mademoiselle are detectable but Noir brings Chanel fragrance to a whole new level in my book. Housed in a heavy weight black glass bottle with inimitable gold Chanel design, this is going to make one beautiful addition to any bedside table or dresser.

The EDP will set you back €92 for the 50ml and €132 for 100ml but truly, with this fragrance smelling is believing.

Are you a Chanel fragrance fan? Have you a favourite?

I should give special mention to
the beautiful Emma from Fluff & Fripperies
who introduced me to this scent on the journey home
this week. So stunning it almost caused a crash!
