September Favourites ft Armani, Aveeno, L'Occitane, Maybelline, MUA and Vaseline
All the leaves are brown... the leaves are brown... and the sky is greeeey... Unheard of for us here on the Emerald Isle, Summer has held on with it's claws and refused to leave this year, much to my delight. It's also been a great month for new beauty finds - most of which are deliciously póca friendly too - behold my September Faves:
1. Armani's Night Viper Nail Laquer: €24 Admittedly I balked a little at the €24 price tag for this new release Armani nail lacquer but when it makes your nails look like this in just two coats with no topcoat then my Jimmies were unrustled again. I managed 5 days wear with no chip or tip wear and no need for a refreshing coat of Seche Vite. Love. It.
2. Aveeno Moisturising Creamy Oil: €8.89 here My Mam has always been an avid fan of Aveeno and I've managed to lather myself in her stash whenever showering in the Parental's. I'd never tried the brands Moisturising Creamy Oil until last week though. With active ingredients Colloidal Oatmeal and Sweet Almond Oil, this cream to oil formula moisturiser soaks in quickly and leaves the most beautiful almond scent behind. A real thigh rubber.
3. Maybelline's Brow Drama: €7.49 here Available in 3 colours, Maybelline's ball brushed brow mascara is a manna to all of us that are a little clueless when it comes to brow care. I found mine best when left to 'dry out' for a day or two but the no streak, no clump, no muss, no fuss formulation has shaven precious minutes off my daily dash. Highly recommended.
4. L'Occitane's Creme Divine: €82 in store or €93 here L'Occitane's Divine Cream is by far the most expensive item to ever make a CherrySue Faves list but truly, feeling and seeing is believing with this newly relaunched anti-aging cream. Derived from the Immotelle flower with Corsican Myrtle, Corsican Honey, Hyaluronic Acid and Evening Primrose Oil, from my first use I was crazy about this cream. Genuinely not necessary for under 35s but a godsend for those over, this 50ml pot will last 6 months and I've already put in my special Christmas gift request with himself for another. Get thee to a L'Occitane shop and sample this bad boy!
5. MUA's Smokin Palette: €7.18 here It's not often I'll call a product The Dopest Dupe I've Ever Seen but this new palette from budget beauty giants MUA has actually blown me away this month. A spot on dupe for the Urban Decay Smoked Palette at less than quarter of the price, this jewel toned, velvety soft wonder palette hasn't been out of my reach in weeks. I'd advise you to lep on this one, quick smart.
6. Vaseline Paint the Town Red: €4.49 here A nasty side effect of all the pain meds I've been swallying for my back this month has meant that I'm suffering with the dryest lips known to man. While La Roche Posay's Cicaplast Lips has never left my kisser and literally saved my skin, Vaseline Paint the Town Red slathered on top is the most flattering blush red tone while I can't wear full on lippie or gloss. Consider it a handbag essential and get your mitts on this limited edition little red tin before it's too late.
Tell me, what are you rating and or slating this past month?

August Faves 2013 ft Armani, Crabtree & Evelyn, L'Oreal, Ojon, Shiseido & Smashbox.
August has been a veritable beauty bonanza, what with every brand and its brother bringing out their Aw13 collections. This post could have gone on for eons but I'm just not that cruel,
I've decided instead to show you what I've been reaching for far and above any other products in the past month and sure isn't that what Favourites are all about?
Smashbox Black Cherry Be Lengendary from the Fade to Black collection: €19
One of the most deceptive lippies I've used, Black Cherry is a deep purple/plum in the bullet but once applied is a sheer cranberry glossfest. Bright and lovely but just this side of bold, it's been the only lipstick I've used that's ever gotten repeated compliments. I'm halfway through the bullet and will be repurchasing once it hits counters this month.
L'Oreal Skin Perfection Skincare Range: from €19.99
Though it's been skincare central here of late with umpteen releases, each more exciting than the last, the one range that I've consistently picked up morning and night is the new L'Oreal Skin Perfection. Boasting everything the 25-30 (ahem) year old needs, this range was designed to bridge the gap between high end potions and off the shelf budget buys.
Ojon Rare Blend Deep Conditioner: €35.69
I'm going to advise picking one of these amber tubes up when you're next in Boots, if they haven't sold out again and take a deep sniff, if you're not immediately handing over your points, I'll be shocked. SHOCKED.
Shiseido Eyebrow Styling Compact: €30
On counters since just yesterday, one of the standouts of Shiseido's AW13 collection is their Eyebrow Styling Palette. Coming in three shades the velvety soft powder makes brow work a cinch, even for the cack handed like me.
I haven't needed additional wax or even additional combing when using the dinky little angled brow brush provided in the palette (a functional palette brush! Unheard of, right?) which has meant I'm managing to touch up on the go if heading straight out after the office. It's a definite brow win for me.
Crabtree & Evelyn Tarocco Orange & Eucalyptus Sage Body Lotion: €19
I was introduced to this beautiful range of citrussy, zesty gorgeousness at a Dolledup.ie event a couple of months back. I remember being blown away by the scent immediately and even as Anita was explaining the Sicilian orange, neroli and bergamot fusion within, I just couldn't keep my nose out of the tub.
Think warm Mediterranean breezes, think of that heady citrussy aroma of orange groves at dusk and you're only barely getting there. I just feel good when I use this, it's a feel good thing. The matching body souffle will be mine before this month is out, you mark my words.
Armani Si: €55
August was a busy month perfume launch wise too and Armani faced some stiff competition to get this spot over Marc Jacobs Honey AND Thomas Sabo's Charm Rose Intense but Si just seemed to resonate with me from the first spritz.
I'm not going to tell you it's women's youth bottled, or the furrowed brow of a working woman or any of that other perfumery, marketing tosh, simply put it's a vanilla and patchouli floral earthed by warm woody notes. It's a warm, smooth scent that, while it reminds me of La Vie est Belle, is softer and more wearable and has one me over completely.
Tell me, what's been floating your goat this past month then? Have you tried any of the above? Do you disagree entirely with any of my stand outs? Lemme know!
