First Look: Zoya PixieDust Nail Polish

Being a self confessed Nail Nut and an avid Zoya fan, when this press release pinged into my inbox I knew I'd have to share it. Though Zoya PixieDust won't be hitting our shores for another 4 weeks, it has already created a stir Stateside for its unique formulation and one off texture on the nail bed that's because, once dried, PixieDust is a snag free wonder that's both matt AND sparkling. Crazy talk, right?

Zoya PixieDust will be available in 6 different shades (as seen up top) so there'll be a colour choice ideal for some talon oopmh for a special night out or a more sedate manicure for day time wear. Zoya recommend that it is worn without base or top coat, which worries me slightly given the tendency of glitters to scratch the nail bed but first reports haven't mentioned any difficulties at all.

Although we've to wait a little while to get our mitts on these intriguing polishes (I'll have a full review as soon as that happens) every colour is already available for pre-order from the fully stocked Irish Zoya provider SuperNail Ireland

What think we? Ready to dust up your nails yet?!

NOTD: Zoya Daul

Nails today are a stunning Zoya offering that I picked up while at the Pro Beauty Show a couple of weeks back.

A purple jelly with a bajillion (actual number) gold and green iridescent micro glitters, Daul literally flashes champagne, gold or purple depending on the light and I'm mesmerised with it.

I've just restarted my use of OPI Nail Envy because I got a little lax with it and my nails are paying the price but I couldn't resist showing you how gorgeous this polish is on the talon.

The formulation of Daul is a little thinner than most, being a jelly and all so could easily lend itself as a topcoat over either a gold or purple polish for a more dramatic look.

You'll find this and all of the other stunning Zoya polishes for €9.90 from SupernailIreland.com

What's on your nails today?

Quick Dry Drops from Zoya and Essence

My grá for nail art runs deep - we know this . My grá for saving time and simplicity runs even deeper. That's why when Supernail Ireland sent me Hurry Up Drops with a recent Zoya package I was intrigued to try them out.

Turns out they kick ass, one drop on each nail works in 60 seconds to dry them to a beautiful shine. Now, not Seche Vite high shine or Sally Hansen Insta Dry quickness but the dropper application means that you're guaranteed no drag on your nail art designs or decorations (crystals etc.)

For those of us that don't have the budget for Zoya (€17.20) just now though but want to try the concept, Essence have come to the rescue, yet again. Priced at €2.49 Nail Art Express Dry Drops do exactly what they say on the bottle and can be used for ordinary manis as well as nail art wonders.

It has to be admitted that I do prefer the consistency of Zoya but both dry your nails in just over a minute and give exactly the same result shine wise. While I may never stop being a sucker for Seche Vite, these are a welcome addition to my nail stash and nail art arsenal.

What think we? Have you tried these drops before?

First Look - Zoya Arrives in Ireland!

It warms the cockles of this polishaholic's little heart to see this. Not only is one of my favourite brands of the laquery stuff now freely available in our very own country, it's an Irish startup run by a husband and wife team, Supernail Ireland, that have brought Zoya to our shores.

Any lacquer lover worth her salt will have heard about this iconic brand and perhaps already have a bottle or two in her stash. To my shame it took the generous Nila from Supernail to right that situation for me.

What's so special about Zoya you ask?

Zoya is a natural range of nail lacquers that are kinder to your nails without compromising on quality. With over 300 different shades to choose from, Zoya follows the latest trends off the catwalk to match the new season's collections. It has won the longest wearing nail polish along with 'Instyle's Best Beauty Buy 2011'. The best thing about the range is it is formaldehyde, toluene, camphor dibutyl phthalate (dbp) free, and is also suitable for vegans

This polish applies like a dream, for the darker shades there's one coat opacity and even without a topcoat, I got 3 days from the bright pink Morgan above.

At €11 they're not the cheapest but consider the chiptastic Chanel charges €21 and doesn't even last an hour, let alone days, I'd happily pay €11 for these over & over again.

These are the 6 new pastel shades for spring/summer with 3 fleck polishes to wear over or on their own. Beautiful.
Do drop by Supernail Ireland to have a little looksee at the gorgeous colours on offer and be sure to let me know you get on too, I'm afraid to look for before payday!
