Pixy Soothing Body Balm - Luxe & Lovely for Stressed out Skin

Just a quick blog search over there --> will tell you just how highly I rate Pixy Irish natural skincare brand. Well their newest addition, Soothing Body Balm has happily taken the fave product baton from Pixy Glowing Body Butter and taken off at a sprint.

A rich whipped concoction of some of your skins favourite salves, ingredients wise we're looking at shea butter, cocoa butter, apricot oil, coconut oil, glycerine, calendula oil, sweet almond oil, vitamin E, ylang ylang essential oil, lavender essential oil, limonene and linalool.

(As with all essential oils, do seek medical advice
if pregnant or using on childer)

Whipped to rich perfection
Less is definitely more when using Soothing Body Balm as just a touch goes a very long way indeed. The finish is very similar to the Glowing Body Butter in that it leaves a soft sheen on the skin and probably not the best for those wanting a product to completely soak in before dressing.

My advice though? Use this to your advantage - having hopped from the shower/bath, pat yourself dry and slather yourself liberally with this luxurious balm - slip into your most comfy cotton pjs and off to the leaba with you. The soothing properties work just like spa moisture socks or gloves but on a much larger scale so you wake up, Benjamin Button style with the bod (skin) of a much younger lady.

I've been using the Soothing Body Balm like this for a week now - two overnight uses - and my skin is brighter, feels nourished and is beautifully scented throughout the day. If you bring out the Moisture Onesie to match this balm, Pixy, I totally want royalties!

You'll find Pixy Soothing Body Balm on their site here and in most great pharmacies throughout the country for just €12.99, That's a pretty daycent price for an all over mask if you ask me...

Brilliant Instant Bronzers ft He-Shi Luminous Shimmer, Clarins Splendours Shimmer Body Oil & Pixy Glowing Body Butter

I'm all for beauty on the run, because I'm mostly on the run but what with us knowing now what we do about harmful UV rays, bronzing on the run is also an essential part of my readying up for a night out or just in the quest to appear less dead.

Three of my ultimate instant bronzers have to be He - Shi Luminous Shimmer, Clarins new Splendours Shimmer Body Oil and Pixy's Glowing Body Butter. Read on to find out for why:

He-Shi Luminous Tanner: €12.50
The winner of the Image 2013 Best for Shimmer Beauty Award, He-Shi's Quick & Easy Luminous Shimmer is exactly that. Quick, easy and shimmery.

This deep mahogany brown gel, crammed full of gold and rose gold shimmer was a little off putting with it's stunning shimmery ways in the tub but the effect on the skin is instant, light catching, bronzed gorgeousness.

With the staying ability of bronzers three times its price, apply this beauty with a mitt to your decolletage, and arms for an instant, lasting sun kiss.

Clarins Splendours Body Oil: €37 (Limited Edition)
This limited edition super sparkly body oil is probably the least oiliest oil you can find. It applies like a dream, scented like holidays and it's infusion of golden micro particles blend seamlessly with your skin to give you a subtle, summery shimmer.

Hazelnut oil nourishes your skin beautifully and the scents of mandarin, grapefruit, Tonka bean and ylang ylang work to give this oil it's stunning scent.
As with all things Clarins, Splendours oil is a little bit of luxury for a reasonable price. This is the one I've been reaching for most of the instant bronzing helpers so I'd advise if you'd like to sample it that you hot foot it to your nearest Clarins counter before it goes bye-bye.

Pixy Glowing Body Butter: €12.99
You'd be mistaken for thinking you'd been duped when first reaching for Pixy's Glowing Body Butter. The whipped up bronzing souffle inside is light as air and smells incredible

Crammed to the brim with Shea butter, cocoa butter, sweet apricot oil, coconut oil, sweet almond oil, vitamin E, fragranced with jasmine and laced with mica to give your skin an instant shimmer, this is the most nourishing of the three when it comes to getting your glow on.

Such is my grá for this little whipped pot of wonder that it made it into my May faves with ease.

And that's them, my top three for getting your instant glow on.

Have you tried any/all of these? I'd love to know what you use when bronzing on the run.

May Favourites ft L'Oreal, Pixy, Real Techniques, Glam Glow, Body Shop, Smashbox, Garnier, Origins & Tinchy Stryder(!) (Pic Heavy)

Can you believe May is over? Nope, me either! Time for a little looksie at what's been making my life easier and stuff I be lovin' this past month. There's some doozies.

GLOWING BODY BUTTER €12.99
First up, I was convinced that I'd been duped when Pixy's Glowing Body Butter landed on my mat. The whipped light & fluffy mousse of cocoa and shea butters feels like air in the tin and most pleasingly, on the skin. With Coconut, Vitamin E and Sweet Almond oils to sweeten this beaut my skin has never looked brighter.

Keep an eye out as Pixy's Glowing Body Butter will have pride of place in an upcoming feature where you can have a closer look.

Origins Plantscription Anti-Aging Cream €62
Boasting brand new Rasberry Plant Stem Cell Technology, Origins Plantscripstions Anti Aging Cream has rocketed to the top of my visage creams of choice this past month.
The thick and ridiculously moisturising cream plumps my skin more than any other and I detected a noticeable decline in my skins brightness when I forgot this little gem on a weekend away.

So impressed am I with this new face love that I've featured it in my first beauty column for the Fingal Raven magazine (more deets on that very soon).

L'Oreal Fresh Dust Dry Shampoo - €11.85
'Dust, anybody? no? DUST' honestly, Marjorie Dawes goes through my head every single time I pick up L'Oreal's Fresh Dust dry shampoo and that's been hella lot this past month.

The only dry shampoo to cure my bereavement at not being able to find Batiste's Gold Shimmer ANYWHERE, this version is actually worth the extra sheckles for lack of build up and continual shine (not the greasy kind) when I'm using it. I'll be definitely repurchasing in the next day or so.

Real Techniques Duo Fiber Face Brush (Set of three €19.99) (or €11.38 from iHerb.com)
I never was a big user of setting or finishing powder, preferring instead to set my visage with a spray of Thermal Spring Water instead. Those times have changed thanks to Real Techniques.

I'm all about this Duo Fiber Face Brush since purchase last month and the air brushed effect I can achieve with Smashbox's Halo Finishing Powder.
I'm a complete convert & wouldn't be without it now.

Smashbox Halo Highlighting Wand €32
I mentioned this pen of wonder in a recent Instagram pic as one of my go to products when I want to look less dead in 5 minutes when I'm flying from work straight into town.

With a design similar to Touch Éclat but with a wider brush and some form of witchcraft in it's pearlescent pinky highlighting cream, this highlighting wand is certainly aptly named.

Garnier Perfect Blur €15
I'm all about speed when it comes to make up so when Garnier promised instant results with their 5 Sec Perfect Blur I was all over it, if a little dubious at the same time.

I needn't have doubted 'em though as Perfect blur does 'sactly what it says on the tube.

My face appears smoother even without make up on top and this here tube has replaced my beloved Smashbox Photo Finish primer for evening jaunts out. Unheard of!

Body Shop Brazil Nut Dry Oil €15
I can't get enough of this wonderful stuff! Body Shop's newest (returning) dry oil  is brazil nut and I can't describe the vanilla/chocolate/deliciousness of it's scent. It reminds me of warm candy floss without the sickly sweetness.

I'm using this dry oil on my bod, on my cuticles, to tame flyaway hairs and even to remove makeup in a pinch. It's truly, truly wonderbar!

Glam Glow Super Mud Clearing Treatment €45
I've reviewed this little pot of mucky goodness here  but couldn't let May faves go by without an enormous shout out for Glam Glow Super Mud Clearing Treatment.

Not only has it vastly improved the brightness & tightness of my visage but as an on the spot treatment it has saved my skin (literally) from 3 mini Mt Vesuvius' already!
Astonishing stuff.

Tinchy Stryder in Ear Headphones €49 (on sale for €29 in Curry's)
Last but by no means least one of my favourite additions to my collection of schtuff this month has to be these weenchy teenchy headphones.

Noise cancelling and ridiculously comfortable to wear (even for a small lug holed user like me) these in ear headphones are stupidly good for pumping out the choons.

So much so that I've even done extra laps in the park at lunchtime just to continue to listen.

Now that's good!

Wheweeee, that was a long post - tell me, what's been tickling your pickle this past month, eh?
