Limited Edition & Delicious from Lush: Let the Good Times Roll & Popcorn

We all know I have a bit of a thing for the movies but I also have kinda a huge thing for popcorn and all of it's salty deliciousness so when I opened a Christmas press package from Lush, you can bet your bottom dollar that these two beauties went straight to the top of the trialling pile. 

Once again, I'm wishing the boffins would hurry up with Smellovision because, truly, you need to breathe deeply around these bad boys to appreciate the ingredient combinations. They're rich caramel scents so jaw achingly sweet that they seem good enough to eat straight from the pot. Both Let the Good Times Roll and Popcorn Lip Scrub are Limited Edition for the Christmas season so you're going to want to be quick to get your mitts on 'em. 

Popcorn Lip Scrub: €6.75

While a little steep at almost €7, this caramel scented soft sugar scrub is chock full of coconut and jojoba oils, sugar, sea salt and polenta. Having used it for the past fortnight to banish flakes and dryness on my kisser I can safely say it's worth every cent. 

A manna from heaven if you're a bright lipstick lover or just feeling the effects of the winter weather, Popcorn Lip Scrub will have your lips buffed and kissably soft in seconds. ALSO, a beauty product you rub in and hog the excess? Now you're talking my language, Lush!

Let the Good Times Roll Cleanser: €7.95 per 100g

Made with popped corn oil, polenta, maize flour and cinnamon, Let the Good Times Roll is probably the sweetest scented product I've ever had the pleasure to stick my snout in. A soft and buttery formulation transforms to an almost semolina like consistency once wet but applies easily. 

Soft particles of popped corn provide a gentle exfoliation as you cleanse and once rinsed away the traces of caramel scent are left on the skin. I had reservations about the sweetness of this product and the effect that might have on my skin but have been pleasantly surprised. While not my regular cleanser, as a pampering treat (especially on a movie night in) it's a winner.

New to Ireland - Pixy.ie and their Lime Body Scrub Cubes

Combining natural and organic ingredients from 'Mother Nature's cupboard' to bring you the best in natural beauty, Pixy.ie is the newest beauty brand on the Irish block and I have to say I'm liking what I'm seeing so far. Prices seem very reasonable, products look fresh and exciting and if these Lime Body Scrubbers that the brand have sent me to review are anything to go by, Pixy is about to become very popular indeed. 

These scrubbers came in a dainty little package from Pixy last week, not too overwhelming on first sight but when you open the bag, ZING, the fresh lime lime scent is instantly recognisable (immediate want of a mojito followed close after). The scent isn't chemical or synthetic though, more clean and inviting.

90g (approx 6 cubes) of Lime Body Scrubbers - €4.99 - Vay reasonable, non?

Containing only five ingredients: Lime Essential Oil, Sodium Bicarbonate, Citric Acid, Apricot Oil & Cocoa Butter, I was very keen to give these zesty wonders a workout. So into the shower I hopped. 

This isn't in the shower, I don't normally shower with limes...

The cube melts easily into your skin but lasts long enough to do your bod, cupped in the palm of your hand. Ideally you'd use two per shower if you're wanting to completely exfoliate your legs too. The little scrubbers are neither harsh nor abrasive and work to gently buff the skin. While it doesn't lather, it does wash off quickly and easily without leaving any residue behind. Pixy.ie recommend exercising caution in the shower or bath though as they may cause slippery surfaces once done. I didn't have any problems though. Just lightly buffed, freshly scented skin.

To me, Pixy.ie looks set to give Lush a run for its money in the Irish market and I'd urge you to give them a look see to see what you think. Philosophy - Field of Flowers

This is going to be one of those posts where I dearly wish Blogger had a smellovision app installed to let you lovelies experience just how gorgeous this scent is. You're going to have to imagine for now or, y'know, hare out to your local Philosophy stockists and pick some of these floral wonders up.

I've heard a fair bit about Philosophy in the past but have never actually owned any of their products, which is pretty much unheard of for me, considering the whole product piggery affliction I've got going on. That's why I was thrilled when the courier man dropped these beauties into me last week for review.

Field of Flowers is the newest addition to the Philosophy line, the fresh, floral scent of peony the most notable bloom but it's accompanied by so many others. It's a soft feminine scent and I just can't get enough of it (I had a shower and used the rich body cream this morning and am, still, inhaling deeply as I type).

It can be very difficult to get a floral scent right and even more so for me to find one that's not too clawing or chemically scented, Philosophy seem to be bang on the money with Field of Flowers in terms of both the name and the bouquet. But how do they fare as products?

The thought of a shampoo, shower gel and bubble bath in one had me dubious as I'm a lover of specific hair care brands but I have to admit I like it. Lathering up quickly and rinsing out effectively, this left my hair squeaky clean with a noticeable soft floral scent into the following day. I've used it several times now and haven't noticed any build up or residue as can happen with multi functional cleansing products.

The Perfumed Body Lotion is rich and creamy and absorbs easily leaving a light sheen on the skin. I had thought this might be a little overpowering but again was pleasantly surprised. Used after your shower this lotion works to seal in the Field of Flowers scent, the perfume and softening effects are still noticeable after a full days wear, which is a bonus if you're running right from a shift in the office or on site, straight out the door in the evening.

Another plus for me with this range is just how pretty they are, they'd make a welcome addition to any bathroom or a beautiful gift for a lady in your life that enjoys all things floral and feminine. The only downside I can foresee with the range might be the list of ingredients, while they in no way affect either me or my enjoyment of them, (or the lads' for that matter) those with sensitive skin types might want to check the ingredient list for possible triggers before purchase.
