Dr Hauschka Limited Edition Chorus Collection for Spring/Summer 2014

In a world seemingly gone mad at the slightest sniff of a nude palette, the launch of Dr Hauschka's limited edition Chorus range is a sight for bland eyes. Bold, bright shadows that shouldn't work but do and incredibly so are paired with more subdued hues and tones to give your make up stash the shimmer and matte Spring awakening it needs. 

This six piece strong edit has just hit counters and if you haven't yet sampled anything from this natural skincare and makeup line then I'd urge you to dip your toes with Chorus. 

At the heart of the collection is the matte & shimmer blush trio. Housed in a sturdy compact, smudge proof (WE LIKE) and sedate but for the holographic accents, this all in one product can be used for a wash of colour in a natural day time look or built up to get you from office to an evening out. 

Flattering on all skin tones there is nothing here not to like. Well pigmented and soft to the touch these colours can be used separately or swirled lightly together for an all over skin finish. 

The gloss is non sticky with a slight sheen. Scented of lavender, this and the neutral toned, slightly shimmering, scent free lippie are the ideal accompaniment to not only this collection but any strong eye look you might be hoping to achieve. As always with Dr Hauschka, you can be pretty much guaranteed that the natural ingredients used will have your pucker in top condition as it naturally nourishes lips throughout wear time (approx 2 hours). 

Both Eyeshadow Duos are not colours I would have ever thought to put together but just seeing Karim Sattar (Dr H International Gorgebag) use them on Roz on the evening of the launch was literally eye opening - as in my eyes widened as I saw the results he achieved with little or no effort using these shimmery soft and matte shadow couplings. 

The soft taupe kajal liner is precise enough to up the ante with your eye look but soft and smudgeable enough (if you work fast) to create a more muted effect.

Ooh La Lash: 3 of the Newest Mascaras to Pump Up the Volume ft. Dr Hauschka Volume Mascara Black, Maybelline Rocket Volume & Max Factor Clump Defy

I'm an absolute fiend when it comes to volumising mascaras, mainly because I'm too cack handed to apply actual false lashes so mascara formulations that save me the time and effort get a big fat win from me. This past month has seen the release of three absolute gems when it comes to pumping up the volume Max Factor Clump Defy, Dr. Hauschka's Volume Black and Maybelline's the Rocket Volum'. Wanna see? 

According to Karim Sattar, Dr Hauschka's International Make Up Artist, 80% of the success of your mascara lies in the brush with the final 20 in formualtion and application. We can see above that each of these brands have redesigned their brushes with that in mind. More is more when it comes to bristles in the search for the perfect volumising brush. 

How do they fare on the súil though, eh? Well hold on to your jocks because someone just happens to have gotten a new camera that's not a potato and I gots Before and After shots!

Maybelline: the Rocket Volum'

Maybelline the Rocket Volum': €11.99

Maybelline's the Rocket glides on easily with minimal clumps, there's definite improvement in volume with just two coats but this mascara can be layered through the day should you be looking for a little more oopmh. There's no fall out or flaking but be warned, you're going to need a oil based cleanser to remove this formulation come night time (or morning time)(me no judgey). 

Max Factor Clump Defy

Max Factor Clump Defy: €13.99

Max Factor's Clump Defy does pretty much what it says on the tube. Application is simple with little or no clumps despite this being two coats. Lashes are separated evenly and curled nicely for added volume. Again you can layer this bad boy as is your wont. Just to note, the colour I've shown here is black/brown and is hugely flattering to green/blue eyes.

Dr Haushcka's Dear Eyes Volume Black Mascara: €24.25

I mentioned Dr Haushcka's Dear Eyes Volume mascara this morning as it's part of their newest limited edition collection but I couldn't not mention it here as I reckon it's well worth you nabbing a tube while it's available. This rose scented volume booster is a boon for those with sensitive eyes or short lashes. Refusing to clump or smudge, lashes are separated, lifted and held in place for the duration of the day (and night too if need be). Once more layering is not a problem with Dr Haushcka Dear Eyes mascara so pop the tube in your mála for day to evening touch ups.

First Look: Dr Hauschka 'Dear Eyes' Limited Edition Collection

I was absolutely thrilled this week to meet up with Dr Hauschka's International Make Up Artist, Karim Sattar not once but twice to not only get the low down on the brand new Dream Eyes collection (pictured) but also glean some handy hints and tips that I'll be sharing this week. This limited edition collection places eyes firmly in the spotlight with a universally usable eyeshadow trio, new kajal liner, Volume Mascara and two natural hair (pony don't you know) and birchwood brushes. Let's take a closer look shall we? 

Dr Hauschka Dear Eyes Eyeshadow Trio Palette: €32.95

First up, housed in heavy plastic, high shine rose gold, the Dear Eyes Eyeshadow Trio Palette is designed to complement every eye colour and add radiance to any look. In keeping with Dr Haushcka's ethos of using natural ingredients, each creamy, soft  shadow contains fine silk powder, kidney vetch extract, witch hazel and black tea. 

The Sparkling Nude can be used as an eyeshadow base or indeed highlighter, Pearly Rose adds a subtle freshness to the eye and Matt Chocolate is designed to give the eye depth but can also be used damp as a soft, defining liner. 

Dear Eyes Volume Mascara: €24.25

Though this quote may be true, the fact is the ingredients in Dr.Hauschka Volume Mascara Black are just a leeedle bit lovely. Beeswax, candelilla wax, rose wax and silk all work to wrap the lashes individually while the bushy brush gives volume, curl and some serious staying power. The scent of rose from this formulation is unmistakable ( I loves it) but sensitive eyed lovelies can be sure that extracts of black tea, neem and eyebright care mean it won't aggravate the delicate eye area.  

New Formula Dear Eyes Kajal Black Liner: €16.00

Made with a composition of botanical oils and waxes, this new formula kajal liner is soft and malleable but sets quickly to add definition to your eye look. Karim offered that very handy pocket tip, which I duly tweeted and the ever astute Mags from EmeraldEyeliner.com volleyed back with the an alternative warming place. (Loving your work as ever Mags).

Dear Eyes LE Brushes: Definer: €22: Blender: €26.50

Lastly in this ode to eyes we have two brand new but limited edition brushes. Made from natural hair and sporting the same rose gold colour embossed in the handles, these brushes are seriously soft. Although on the slightly higher end of the spendy spectrum these brushes are beautifully put together and do exactly as they're meant to do with no fall out or dragging at all. If you take care of these bad boys they could be with you for life.

Organic and natural, Dr Hauschka's products have been used on the set of Twilights Breaking Dawn, Black Swan, The Devil Wears Prada and The Women and shows such as Gossip Girl, Greys Anatomy, Sex and the City and Desperate Housewives. They're some serious credentials, specially considering the emergence of HD and the ever more pressing need for characters to look flawless.
