Monday's Moments: 09/09/13

Good day all and how are we this crisp September Monday morning then? I'm heading on into a third week of being banjaxed and out of work but the slower pace is really kinda nice - you know Sick Leave would be pretty much my favourite kind of leave if it weren't for the sickness.

How about some Monday's Moments to cheer myself up then, you say? You know what? You're right!

1. I Heart iHerb

Sometimes, not often, I'll stumble across a site that I fall truly, madly, deeply in the love with and iherb.com is one such very site. Not just for their bargain Real Techniques brushes but for their very generous rewards club too, much like Boots points but with US loveliness instead.

Moment one of this week was spending almost an hour perusing all manner of goodies, makeup and medicinal and managing to spend just $4 (for shipping) and bagging some fab little bits that I'll be showing you over the next few weeks. You gotta love free money.

2. Getting My Mitts on KIKO

I first got to try Italian make up brand, Kiko when on a trip to London last year. The bits I picked up not only impressed me then but continue to do so now and are in regular use from my stash. My only gripe is that we can't get this purse friendly beauty brand in Ireland.

Well, my lovelies I've found a work around and I'm thrilled with it. I'll have a post tomorrow to not only tell you how I've done it but to share the lovely bits I managed to bag for next to nothing. Keep an eye out!

3. Back to Blogging Life, Back to Blogging Reality

After several weeks, many false starts and a couple o' laptop loaners, my beloved desktop is back.

I can't tell you how nice it is to use my soft touch keyboard, blind myself with the 22inch monitor or have keys do what they're actually supposed to do when you press them.

I blame the pain meds and the general brain fug I've been under as a result for the delay in sorting it out properly but it's back, Baby and it's better than ever *Presses ALL THE THINGS*

4. An Like that *Poof* He's Gone
(Because I banished him to the shed for cheek)

We know that the Eldest Gorgebag is a movie fanatic, we know because he writes most of our movie reviews these days. Did we also know he's a cheeky imp?

When I had to hobble into the office during the week, his parting words as I left the car were 'Just don't do a Keyser Söze while you're still in their sight or they'll be onto you.'

While I'm highly offended at the implication, I can't help but be a little bit proud of the reference. He makes it very hard to bate him for cheek.

5. Mystery Date Really Floats my GBoat

Finally, one Moment that's filled with many little Moments was my mystery date on Saturday night. As I've said I've found it almost impossible to leave the house of late with my stoopid back but was whisked away (into Dublin) on Saturday to cheer me up and boy did it.
I've always wanted to eat aboard the MV Cill Airne on the Liffey and now that I have, I just want to back.

The food was incredible, the staff were pleasant and helpful, the setting was intimate and the company was the icing on the cake. If you're looking for somewhere a little bit different for dins or a cracking pre theatre menu then I can't recommend this vessel enough. We're already planning on bringing our Mommas for Christmas dinner before Wicked in the Bord Gais this December. (You can totally steal that plan, as long as you don't steal our table!)

Tell me, what's been brightening up your week and chasing your Monday Blues away then?
