New Cutex Ultra Cleansing - Promises to 'Remove Stubborn Glitter AND Care for Your Nails' - Does It?
I know a lot of people struggle with glitter polish removal, personally it doesn't bother me in the slightest. Chances are that's because I'm usually too excited about the next polish to care about the approximate 4 minutes it takes to remove the glitter with my go to Cutex Moisture Guard remover. So colour me intrigued when I saw this sign for Cutex Ultra Cleansing Nail Polish Remover in Boots for €2.60.
I wasn't long in waiting for an opportunity to put this Cutex through its paces as I'd been sporting Barry M's new Majesty (STUNNER BTW) so sat down and prepared to be wowed. Then... then... nothin'. It irks me to say this but Cutex Ultra Cleansing takes zippo from the Cutex Moisture Guard removal time.
I usually use Boots double sided cotton pads OR Plenty kitchen roll to remove glitters so I used the cotton pads and truthfully, this took pretty much exactly the same amount of time to remove the polish, if not slightly longer.
Granted there's the addition of Multi-Fruit Extract, Geen Tea Extract & Vitamin E to help nourish nails but I've used this remover four times now and it's made no difference to the appearance or condition of my nails or cuticles.
Don't get me wrong, it's a pleasant remover, doesn't smell too offensive and does remove glitters with a bit of scrubbage - all that and it has a purse friendly price but if you're looking for a miracle remover for your glitters, I'm afraid Cutex Ultra Cleansing isn't it. Boo and Urns.

NOTD: Banana Sunday with Sally Hansen, Essie & Inglot
It's been a while since I've posted a Nail of the Day so thought I'd share this simple look today. Bright and sunny and more than a little inspired by my bargainous Lidl roses, this mani is stoopidly simple but I've had so many compliments it's silly.
Essie's Sunday Funday is a bright coral from my favourite of this Summers collections and Go Bananas is Sally Hansens pastel lemon from the gorgeous limited edition Exotica range. Both topped with Inglot's stunning Holo glitter: 201.
Of course these colours would make a stunning sponged ombre mani too but, when in a rush, any creme bright will complement creme pastels and give you a lovely effect. Go forth and mix/match from your stash, yo!
What's on your nails today then?

Sequin Nails for Silly Season!
Have we seen the latest product from Ciaté? Just in time for the Christmas and Festive party season we have The Sequinned Manicure. A Magpie's dream.
The Sequin Manicure pack will set you back £15 though we don't have an Irish price yet. That's why I thought it might be an idea for the less patient amongst us i.e me to figure out how to get this look right now.
Let's face it, I don't need to be MacGyver now do I? I'll just leave these pictures below, yeah?

Nail Tips - Livening Up Polishes - Glitter Dots Y'all
The lovely Síle (whose Bday it is today, whoot!) one of the four brains behind the fab Emerald Eyeliner blog was showing us her picks for Sally Hansen Autumn Nails but was fairly iffy about the above colour, Café Au Lait, for wearing on its lonesome. The above is my take on how to rock the colour and was tweeted with the quickness.
We know I have Magpieitis when it comes to glitters so I got to thinking... Using a simple hair clip as a dotting tool like I did with the cherry blossom nails any colour can be brought to life.

Nudes can be livened up and mattes given a lift while still being office appropriate or your more garish colours can be combined with more dots for night out nails.
What do we reckon? Give it a shot?

NOTD - Lavender Loveliness
Behold lavender loveliness (says I). I wanted something a little pretty and a little ‘tame’ as I’m back in the office this week.

I have a serious grá for all things glitter but didn’t want to go too over the top. This combo, again uses an Essence colour (€1.29) called No More Drama. And it’s certainly not dramatic. More of a creamy lavender/lilac and very, very pretty.
Don’t get me wrong I do have a laaarge array of polishes but can never resist these little Essence beauties for on trend colours or for experimenting with.
To the tips! I used a Nails Inc London bottle of fabulousness in Park Lane, a shiny mauve glitter that I’ve never seen the likes of before. It has very high glitter content and with one shake gives great sparkle payoff. It was one of a set of three I picked up on a recent break for the border in Debenhams, Newry for £20. Bargain!

I painted the tips freehand as the glitter is very forgiving. One advantage of an opaque nail bed colour is you can fake your lines when your nails are shorter, as mine are at the minute. Et voila, instant tips. A handy tip for all manis is this glitter tip. It can cover chips and prolong an existing paintjob. The sparkly formulation is much harder wearing too, so ideal if you're up to eyes with working/wrangling kiddies etc.
End result in the light of day?

So what do we think? Meh or Mahoosive?
