Orly's Rage is the Rose Gold Chrome of Your Dreams!

If you've followed any of my social channels for any amount of time, you'll know my love for rose gold EVERYTHING is real. Imagine my joy then when I spotted rose gold chrome talons on the Tropical Popical feed. I knew I had to have them. Before visiting the kitsch nail oasis on South William St. I was sure that this colour was Gellish (which you can also get) but it turns out this version is Orly's Rage.

It's a rose gold foil shimmer that translates beautifully to the nail. Retaining all of the shimmer and all of the foil effect, which is pretty rare for a chrome polish like this. Isn't she pretty?

Gel extensions by the very lovely nail maven, Jenny in Tropical Popical
So enamoured was I with the job Jenny did in Tropical Popical that while I sat and waited for my talons to dry, instead of leafing through the magazines I hopped online to hunt down Orly's Rage for my Sis & I.

Turns out the folks at Amazon and eBay have cottoned on to the popularity of this rose gold polish so prices were in excess of €20 for the lacquer and up to €30 for postage to Ireland?! Get UP the actual yard! A good ten minutes of wading through shysters later and I happened upon Fragrance Direct. BINGO, they have Rage and they have it for £1.99 HERE!

Orly Rage ~ still sparkling even in artificial light!
I opted for a bottle each and standard delivery and it took just under 3 weeks, which handily enough is just as long as my extensions lasted. There is also an option for Express Delivery for £1 extra, which will get the polish to you in 2-3 days ~ I've since done that too, so enamoured am I with this rose gold beauty that I needed back ups.

Those of you that have been reading this little blog for any amount of time will know that we had a nail and nail art focus here for quite a while, so admittedly my polish stash is quite substantial. Saying that, I have never been complimented on a polish as much as I have Orly's Rage. People have, quite literally greeted me by grabbing my fingers to get a closer look.

The glitter triggers I have pictured are a H&M rose gold glitter that I have been unable to source. It's old stock that Trop Pop have but seems to have disappeared from the face of the earth other than that. It's a nail nut's worst nightmare. I've since found Julep's Jane that's a possible dupe. What do we think?

Tell me, are you as enamoured with Orly's Rage as I am? Will you be making a purchase?

Introducing Inglot's Seasonal Sparkle Polish: 224

Apart from my new grá for Inglot shadows I've been bitten by their polish bug too. I'm a huge lover of metallics when it comes to my talons and have been for quite some time, they allow you to get the sparkle (when the formulation is right) but also assist in skipping with the removal of glitters, which let's face it, is a pain in the flesh.

Inglot 224: €10
Inglot 224: Serious Sparkle
As you can see, 224 is packing some serious heat when it comes to metallic shine and bright foil effect. To be fair I had tried one or two Inglot polishes before and hadn't been bowled over by their formulation, so how did this one fare?

It applies like a dream, full foil opacity in two smooth coats with no dragging or graineyness that can be found in a lot of metallic nail polishes.

It's a much calmer and more yellow gold shade on the nail than in the bottle but even so, once the sunshine hits, it's sparkle city. 224 is subdued enough for day to day wear and subtle enough to go with just about every outfit (including festive party rig outs) so for that it's definitely worth a looksee, as are the other four shades in this seasonal range.

One word of warning though, longevity isn't as good as it could be. I had tip wear on day two and chips on day three but despite that I'd happily purchase the other shades. Be sure to use a base and top coat to try and elongate your metallic mani but other than that, just enjoy.

Have you tried these new seasonal shades yet? A foil polish love in general?

Essence Alert! Foiling the Big Boys - Again!

You read that right, Essence have done it again. Foil look polishes are what all the best dressed talons are wearing this season & if you take my advice you'll hotfoot it to your local Essence supplier and pick these little beauties up.

We all know I have a bit of a polish piggery problem going on, so for comparison purposes I've pulled a couple of my favourite foils for you to peruse:

Essence Icy Princess €1.29, TopShop Starlight (Identical dupe) €7, Chanel Graphite €21

I've favourited this TopShop number for quite a while now, pishahing Barry M's Silver Foil in it's favour but Essence's Icy Princess is an astonishing dupe for 1 sixth of the price? No brainer!

Essence Shiny Goddess€1.29, Barry M 320 Foil, Sally Hansen Gilty Pleasure €8.29

I have a couple of gold offerings and I am partial to Sally Hansen's Complete Manicure awesomeness but Essence is actually the brightest, foiliest of the three. Barry M is listed as a foil but disappointingly matt on the nail.

If you like your foils you got to get 'em, you got gots to get 'em!
