Rose Gold Hair from Garnier Olia - Unfiltered Pics & Review!

You'd have to be living under a very large rock not to notice we've gone WAY beyond a handful of hair colours. I can remember Aaron (who currently rocks a cobalt blue fauxhawk) mentioning that people with differently coloured hair always acknowledged each other in public with a nod or a wink - he says that doesn't happen as often now that coloured hair has gone mainstream, which is fair because what's more mainstream than your Mam turning rose gold?!

If you've met me out and about, tuned into my Instagram Stories or caught me on Elaine on Virgin Media One you'll know I've gone to the rose gold side. Forever a blonde and almost as long a Garnier Olia blonde (9.0 usually) I took a figary a little while ago to pick up 9.2 instead and am LOVING living the rose gold life.

Garnier Olia Rose Gold - 9.2 - €8.99 or 2 for €15
Garnier very kindly sent me some boxes when they saw me posting about my switch, that's great PR!
Yep, just like their other Olia shades, 9.2 is a permanent dye but please don't let that put you off. It's ridiculously flattering if you are, or have happily been blonde, in fact I've never had more compliments on my hair before than I have when using this. My hair is silky soft, doesn't feel processed or bleached and actually still looks blonde in certain lights or when tied back.

It's when it's freshly washed or curled you can really notice the soft rose pink highlights, and having recoloured now 4 times, once every six weeks, I know it fades naturally too. Having said that, if you're looking for a solid rose gold shade, uniform throughout your hair, this may not be the option for you. This reacts more like a rinse in my hair, a very, very long lasting rinse.

That top indicator is pretty much spot on for my highlights! Pic Credit: Garnier

See how the rosey pink clings to curls but the rest is still blonde?
Overall, I'm a big fan and can't see that changing any time soon. Sure it's not an all over colour but that's great news for me. I work full time, front line in the public service so, for me, this is the perfect way to add a little colour to my life without going overboard. While I don't get the nods and winks from the grĂșaig illuminati, it IS a great conversation starter and I'm AOK with that too.

Tell me, have you dabbled with
differently coloured hair?
Would you give rose gold a go?
