The Thursday Chattery

Morning All!

I was a little MIA yesterday but that's because I was at a seriously interesting & equally inspiring women in business event that you can check out under the #LadiesSPost tag on Twitter.

Stellar Mag this month had a feature too about supporting and empowering women in our own field (not the one out your back) and others too - it really is worth a look.

So in the spirit of a virtual back patting sesh and just to get the Chat chugging this morning, who inspires you and why

Remember, we have a
€20 One 4 All voucher
for the best/most helpful
Chatter this week!

Dr Mary Beard. Oh, I, know it's not going to go down well and for a beauty obsessed one like myself, it may seem very bizarre, given that the woman in question just really doesn't give a crap. It's part of what I love about her! She has an infectious love of her subject, a truly deep knowledge of it and unlike a great deal of female presenters in her field she wasn't chosen 'cos of her face. And she knows it. And she doesn't give a crap. I love that even though she's grey she has long hair. I love that even though her teeth aren't as even and white as a row of Roman columns, she still grins joyfully when discussing her subject. I love that she's not afraid to say what she means and mean what she says. I love that she cycles everywhere and does it with all the joie de vivre of a little kid. I wish she was my Auntie!

Reading inspires me. Nerdy, right? There is something about the escapism of reading a well written book that influences me. It gets me out of my head, away from the clutter and nothing is as inspiring as a moments peace.

Other bloggers inspire me too; the time and dedication bloggers like yourself put in is truly inspiring. It drags me away from complacency and gets my backside in gear.

WHY is it harder to get into a new eyeliner than it is to get into Fort Knox?
